Starcrossed Hiatus
on February 18, 2013 at 11:51 amI have been putting off making this post for a week, but a tweet from my buddy Adrian Ropp this morning prompted me to just bite the bullet.
I have to put new Starcrossed comics on hold for a few weeks.
If you missed it, I made a blog post about my current workload here.
However, there is more behind pushing back new comics. I am using what free drawing time I have and focusing on finishing and shipping the rest of the Artist Edition and other art related perk packages from the
Starcrossed: Volume One Indiegogo campaign.
I really appreciate all of the patience and support from readers while I have been slowly but surely delivering on the Indiegogo packages. It has been really exciting to see the reactions from readers via email, Twitter and Facebook as their books arrive.
Thanks! And if you’re an Indiegogo supporter, keep your eyes on your mailbox!

In Comics C2C, you were sounding a little bogged down from your Indiegogo campaign obligations. I was wondering if you were going to take a break from Starcrossed to get caught up with everything else.
Take the time you need. Get those packages sent. The last thing you need is to get stressed because people become impatient. My RSS feed will let me know when you post new comics. ;)
Thanks Bill. That means a lot. No one has really been impatient. I think that most people involved in the Indiegogo campaign know that it’s not “exactly” a pre-order in the strict sense of the term. I’m still very flattered that the project was crowd funded and I hope that everyone that contributed is proud to be part of the whole thing. Hence me taking the time to make sure that the perk packages move along in a timely manner. I do plan on making updates on the blog with a few sample sketches from artist editions.
Wow, I’m a jerk. Joel, the truth is I just love your comic and I wanted to give you a bit of a shout-out. I’m happy to wait as long as necessary to continue the adventure. Please take care of yourself and ensure that there’s an artist still alive to draw more comics! You know we cool, right?
Jerk! Jerk-face! We’ve got a jerk-face over he– I’m kidding of course. No worries Adrian. It was a nice reminder that there were likely a few people out there thinking the same thing. Thanks for the shout out and the kind words. Much appreciated.
We cool Jerk-Face. We cool. ;)
Have you considered getting a guest artist?
I have not. The main reason is because in order to get a guest artist to fill in for me, I then have to fill in for them in return – which I don’t have time for. It’s a personal rule.
