Pre-orders & Perk Packages Now Available!
Go go go!
The Starcrossed: Volume 1 pre-order campaign on Indiegogo.com is up and running! If you want to be one of the first people to get your hands on the 80+ page comic strip collection when it comes out in October, reserve your copy now and help fund the first print run.
Perk-olating Packages
The base perk packages include a copy of Starcrossed: Volume 1 but you can choose from a range of support levels with super-fun Starcrossed merchandise, original artwork from me, and even your very own
Starcrossed Original Comic Strip. Some packages have limited quantities. So, if you’ve been waiting to get that favourite strip or commission idea, now is the time!

How it works
By pre-ordering your copy of Starcrossed: Volume 1 you help raise the funds needed to print and ship the first edition of the book. You get your book, my eternal thanks, and any other perks in your package. Simply visit the campaign on Indiegogo.com, review and choose your perk package, add your shipping to your total, and click contribute.

Payment
I have a PayPal Merchant account. You can use your PayPal account or your MasterCard, Visa or American Express card all through my PayPal checkout. Choose PayPal when you contribute and the rest is gravy.
Why do you have to add shipping?
I’m flattered to say that Starcrossed readers span the globe. Unfortunately, that means that I’m not able to offer a flat shipping rate for the book and perk packages to everyone. Depending on where you live, the shipping and handling for your package will vary. You can find shipping rate info here and as well as at the top (and bottom) of the Indiegogo campaign page.
Thanks & Sharing
If you’ve decided to be part of the Starcrossed: Volume 1 pre-order,
thank you! I know not everyone can afford to help out by purchasing a book, but there are other ways. Share! Follow me on Twitter, Facebook and Google+ and share posts about the pre-order campaign with your friends. If you have a website and want to help out by linking to the campaign, below are a range of visual ads to make it easy for you.
And again, thank you!

Hey Joel,
I just wanted to drop you a line to say how very impressed I was with all of the graphics you did for your individual campaign levels in your Indiegogo campaign.
For a while now, I’ve been kicking around the idea of doing a Kickstarter campaign for my Volume 3 book of Capes & Babes but I knew some friends who have gone with Indiegogo. After seeing the slick graphics you designed for your campaign page, that has really convinced me I could do something similar as well… although I’ve been wracking my brain with ideas on how I could do a werewolf version of your coffee levels – that was a great idea, by the way! Really love it.
One thing I think you should do, though, is to create an Indiegogo badge for you website and put it in one of your sidebars so it will stay in everybody’s mind while your campaign is going on. Just a thought.
And lastly, so many of us that do webcomics will hear the typical “I love your style/strip/humor/whatever” but I want to give you a different type of compliment. As much as I enjoy your expressions and line art in your strip, as a fellow graphic designer, I really appreciate your graphic design skills just as much as I do your art. I think that’s the one thing that really impressed me with your Indiegogo campaign.
Anyway, that’s about it. I’m not sure which part of Canada you’re from but if you’re close to Toronto, here’s to enjoying a cold bag of milk, my friend (you’ll know what I’m talking about if you live near Toronto!).
:-)

Hey Chris!
Wow, thanks for the kind words. I spent a lot of time making the graphics for the campaign. My girlfriend was actually teasing me about it, but there are some things you have to make sure are exactly the way you want them. Am I right?
I can’t take all the credit. The idea for bright, fun, clear visuals of reward packages came from the Creature Box Monster Volume campaign on Kickstarter. Those guys can design! So, I emulated their Kickstarter page as best I could.
I won’t get into it here, but I would highly recommend Kickstarter over Indiegogo if you can at all gain access. Email me and we can chat details.
I do have an ad for the Indiegogo campaign right under the comic now, but something in the side banner would be a good idea as people surf to the store, which has a different side bar. I’ll put one in next chance I get. Thanks!
More kind words, more thanks. I’m actually not a professional designer though. I have a fine art degree, but no training in graphic design what so ever. The rules aren’t so different I guess, though I’m sure lots of people could take me to task on font use and other technical no-no’s I probably tread on.
I’m in Halifax, but my girlfriend (now here) is from Toronto. I’ll ask her about the bag of milk. I’ll be in Toronto (King City) in November briefly. If schedules allow, maybe we can grab a coffee or a beer.
Cheers!
