Updated: September 6th
Several loyal readers have been waiting patiently for me to reveal the big news coming down the pipes and why I’ve been so darn busy the past few weeks. Well, the wait is over! I am very excited to let everyone know that this fall I will be self-publishing a Starcrossed book!
I will be launching a Indiegogo campaign shortly to help raise money for printing. The campaign will also act as a pre-order for the book as well as give everyone an opportunity to pick up some fun Starcrossed rewards and original art as a thank you!
I am still putting together the rewards and sorting out shipping costs. I am just putting the final touches on the campaign.
You can bet your butt that I will let everyone know when (soon!), when and how to get your hands on Starcrossed Volume 1.
[I] made a quick update to the gallery this morning. The two latest commissions are a Black & White Con-Sketch of Batman for the winner of a Yelp Halifax contest draw and a custom black and white
digital commission for my friends Helen and Cal for the front of her wedding invitation! Helen and Cal are both big Calvin & Hobbes fans and they wanted to bring that into their wedding invite in a unique way. Congrats guys! See you on September 30th!
Commissions are still open. If you can’t find what you’re looking for in the Starcrossed Store just email me and I can send you a custom quote.
Black & White 9 x 12 Sketches will be on special at DCAF for $40!
So, come on out to the Dartmouth Comic Arts Festival on Sunday, August 19th and pick up some cool stuff from myself and other Atlantic Canadian cartoonists and comic artists. Details here.
[L]ater this month I will be a guest at the Dartmouth Comic Arts Festival! I was really happy to hear about a festival dedicated to comic and comic related art in my home town and even more pleased to receive an invite from Cal Johnson of Strange Adventures to set up at a table. So, if you’re a local Starcrossed reader, come by and say hi! It’s always super fun to meet people who read the comic. I will also have sketches, prints, and some merchandise available if you’d like to take home something special.
Of course there will be lots of other comic artists and authors at DCAF from Dartmouth, Halifax and all over the East Coast. You can find out more on the DCAF blog or Facebook Event Page, but here are the basics.
See you there!
Update: Inks for this week are done. Pencils below.
As I mentioned on the last post, I’m finishing these latest two comics in stages.
Here are the pencils for this week’s Starcrossed. You can still see the pencils for last week’s strip as well as some other goodies if you know where to look.
Yup. I’m still running behind. The perfect storm of cartoonus-interruptus continues. Working on it!
In the mean time…
This week on Comics Coast to Coast we were joined by the two original co-hosts of the show, Tom Racine and Justin Thompson. Tom has gone on to do another fantastic interview podcast Tall Tale Radio and Justin continues his work on his comic MythTickle. Both were at San Diego Comic Con this year and stopped by Comics Coast to Coast to fill us in on their experiences. Their first SDCC panels, signings, and fun interviews from creators and fans. Check out Comics Coast to Coast Episode 147 for all the goodies.
And after that, check out Tom’s videos from SDCC on Tall Tale Radio on YouTube.
