Gleeky Clean by Joel | Feb 21, 2011 | Comics | 5 comments 5 Comments Sandy on February 21, 2011 at 1:17 pm Okay, that’s two in a row where we get the Sam tease… how long before he goes the Full Monty? Inquiring minds want to know! On a slightly more serious note, really like how you textured on the tiles in the last panel. Joel on February 21, 2011 at 3:49 pm Thanks Sandy. It’s actually a really simple technique. Create a grey tone in Photoshop (in this case 15%) and save it as a black and white bitmap. I have several like this. 15% tone, 30% tone, 15% line, and a cross hatching pattern for something a little darker. Here are some examples. 30% tone. http://www.animafax.com/starcrossed/2010/12/27/save-the-date/ 15% line. http://www.animafax.com/starcrossed/2011/01/24/and-thats-no-bull/ Cross hatching. (Though, on the web version it’s hard to actually make out.) http://www.animafax.com/starcrossed/2010/12/06/stupid-little-space-men/ As for Sam going full monty… Unlikely. If there’s any nudity in the strip you can bet your bar ass that it will be boobs. Sandy on February 21, 2011 at 6:09 pm Thanks, Joel, useful tip! It reminds of using LetraTone back in the day. And I await with baited breath for a pic of Sam’s boobs; maybe him singing in the shower? Oh, wait… Zoli on February 24, 2011 at 11:19 am I was searching for a webcomic and people sent me here. I love it!! I just finished reading from start up till now. A productive day at work so far I think. Joel on February 24, 2011 at 11:23 am Thanks Zoli! Glad you like the strip. Mind if I ask who sent you? Friends? Family? Co-worker?
